Online Tarot School
Learn Tarot.
Read With Confidence.
Start with a free seven-lesson beginner course that teaches you how to understand the deck, interpret cards in context, and complete your first clear three-card reading—without trying to memorize all 78 cards first.
From “I don’t know where to start” to your first complete reading.
You do not need psychic ability, a perfect memory, or a complicated spread. You need a deck, a simple process, and enough practice to make the cards connect.
Take the Free Course
Seven guided lessons that build one beginner skill at a time.
Use the Workbook
Each lesson has a matching exercise so the cards stay in your hands.
Finish the Milestone
Complete the final check, score your reading, and finish the starter foundation.
Learn a process before trying to memorize a dictionary.
A tarot card changes with the question, the spread position, and the cards around it. That is why this course teaches interpretation first and memorization gradually.
Start with what is actually visible in the image instead of racing to a keyword.
Suit, number, Court role, Major Arcana, and spread position give you useful clues.
The same card can reasonably mean something different in career, relationships, or guidance.
The goal is one coherent message—not three disconnected definitions.
Forget a card meaning? You still have a process.
The same four steps repeat throughout the course until they become a habit.
What is visibly happening?
What mood does it create?
How does it relate to the question?
Blend observation with traditional themes.
Three cards. One connected message.
The course teaches you to move from separate card meanings into a natural reading like this.
Eight of Pentacles
Skill-building, practice, improving your craft, doing the work.
Eight of Swords
Fear, overthinking, feeling trapped, seeing fewer options than may actually exist.
The Chariot
Choose a direction, focus your energy, and move deliberately.
“You may already be building the skills you need, but fear or overthinking could be making the path feel more limited than it is. The guidance is to choose a direction and begin moving rather than waiting for total certainty.”
Seven beginner skills you can actually demonstrate.
The finish line is not “I read a lot about tarot.” It is being able to use the cards with a repeatable process.
Major vs. Minor Arcana, four suits, number clues, and Court Card roles.
Use imagery and context before opening a guidebook.
Turn rigid yes/no questions into useful prompts.
Interpret the same card differently as Situation, Challenge, or Guidance.
Move from keyword lists to one coherent message.
Use tentative language, preserve agency, and avoid false certainty.
Choose a question, draw three cards, interpret the spread, and summarize it naturally.
Seven lessons from “What is tarot?” to your first full reading.
About 90–120 minutes including hands-on practice. Finish in one sitting or split it into three short study sessions.
Foundation, beginner myths, and flexible interpretation.
Major, Minor, suits, number shortcuts, Court Cards, and card anatomy.
LOOK → FEEL → CONNECT → INTERPRET and the 60-second card drill.
Turn narrow questions into useful, specific, open-ended prompts.
Situation → Challenge → Guidance and why spread position changes meaning.
Move beyond keyword lists and connect multiple cards into one message.
Put the full process together and speak the reading in your own words.
More than a single article dressed up as a course.
The Starter Course is a connected learning system.
7-Lesson Course
Teaching, examples, drills, knowledge checks, and mastery checkpoints.
Starter Workbook
Seven matching worksheets and a repeatable reading tracker.
Final Knowledge Check
Ten questions plus a five-point reading self-assessment.
Completion Certificate
Recognition for completing the Starter Course foundation.
The certificate recognizes course completion only; it is not professional accreditation or licensure.
You want a clear first step.
✓ You own a tarot deck but barely use it.
✓ You keep looking up every card and still feel unsure.
✓ You feel overwhelmed by 78 meanings.
✓ You want to practice before buying a larger course.
✓ You want a simple reading process you can repeat.
A full professional-reader program.
The free course intentionally stops at the beginner foundation. It does not attempt to cover every card in depth, advanced spreads, reversals, client work, professional ethics, pricing, or a full reading practice.
Those belong in the later school stages so the Starter Course stays approachable and useful.
Built by a real metaphysical bookstore—not a faceless course page.
Namaste Bookshop was founded in 2010. Tarot decks, spiritual books, readers, and beginners asking “Where do I start?” have been part of the environment for years.
Online Tarot School turns that experience into a structured path: learn one skill, practice it with the cards, check your understanding, and build toward a reading you can actually complete.
Start free. Build toward reading confidently for other people.
Only the Starter Course is available now. The next programs are planned stages—not courses we are pretending are already live.

Helpful if printed prompts make practice easier.

A learning aid with meanings printed directly on the cards.

Bright imagery for a lighter learning experience.
Before you start
Do I need to be psychic?
No. The course teaches observation, symbolism, context, pattern recognition, and practice. You can learn the method without adopting a particular spiritual label.
Do I need to memorize all 78 cards first?
No. The course deliberately gets you using the cards before complete memorization and gives you a process for when you do not remember a meaning.
Do I need a specific tarot deck?
No. A standard 78-card deck is enough. Rider-Waite-style imagery can be convenient for beginners because many learning resources use it, but it is not required.
Is the Starter Course really free?
Yes. The current seven-lesson Starter Course and online workbook are available at no charge.
How long does the course take?
Plan for about 90–120 minutes including exercises. You can complete it in one sitting or spread it across several short practice sessions.
Can I read for other people after this course?
The Starter Course gives you a beginner foundation and one simple reading process. Reading confidently for other people requires more practice, communication skills, boundaries, and deeper card knowledge, which are planned for later stages.
Does the certificate make me a certified professional tarot reader?
No. It is a certificate of completion for the Starter Course foundation, not professional accreditation or licensure.
You do not need to know all 78 cards before you begin.
Bring a deck and a notebook. Start Lesson 1. Follow the course in order. Your finish line is simple: a clear Situation → Challenge → Guidance reading in your own words.
